Real Estate Exchange: Using Tax-Deferred Exchange in Real Estate Investment Management
Published in Hardcover by Probus Professional Pub (November, 1992)
Average review score:

Valuable addition to your real estate library. This book is a concise guide to real estate exchange. Yes, it is heavily geared towards legal codes and tax codes, but that's what makes this a great reference book. If you're bored with reading "fluffy" books about all the advantages of RE exchange and want to get to the meat and potatoes of the issue, get this book. Zuckerman and Stone are experienced professionals and know the IRC like the back of their hand. It is not a book to read in one day, to be sure, but it is an in depth view of the world of exchanges and it would do you good to have a copy.

Remembering light and stone
Published in Unknown Binding by Boston : Faber and Faber ()
Average review score:

Her memories become yoursThis spare volume is effectively hypnotic, bringing the reader into the world of the narrator and including him or her in her darknesses and her hesitant acceptances of small happinesses. We wonder what it is that has hurt her, but there is nothing cheap or conveniently resolvable about this book, which deepens its impact and makes it seem that much more real.
The narrator writes of her life in Italy, while remembering her past with an aloof distance. She has what could be rich relationships with a neighborwoman and her family and with an American she meets abroad. But there is a reason she is living away from home (in Ireland), and the light and stone of the title come to embody her memories.
It's a brilliant work and highly recommended.

Rights of Stone
Published in Paperback by 1stBooks Library (December, 1995)
Average review score:

a great read. This book wasn't written this year, but correlates to events happening concerning gun control at the present time. Is there a conspiracy to snuff out any part of our Bill of Rights? Why do certain politicians and groups seem intent on utilizing tragic events as a reason to destroy the second amendment? Is this truly a fictional story? Interesting! Decide for yourself.

River Capital: An Illustrated History of Baton Rouge
Published in Hardcover by American Historical Press (July, 1997)
Average review score:

wish I could afford to buy it.thumbed thru this great book at Barns and Noble and was hoping it would be less expensive on the net. I knew Prof. Carleton and took his history class at LSU. The book "The River" is seriously the best I have seen considering the real history of Baton Rouge as I know it to be. All of the "recent" characters that are noted are real to me. Mr. Lloyd Collett was my neighbor back in the 50's when he first invisioned the company that he founded. United Companies was born on Eugene Street in the 50's and has blown into a mega company. Others noted in the book are just as acurate to my knowledge and I've known them all at one time or the other. It feels like my history in this city - from 1942 to present. Prof. Carleton was in command of a wealth of history regarding this area - politically and otherwise. I wish he had not been taken at such an early age. The pictures are beyond great. Have one for me Tom - wherever you are.
